- Installing the Windows '95 Drivers
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- The following procedure assumes that the TORNADO is already installed in your
- system and that Windows '95 is installed on your hard disk.
- Finally, make sure that Windows '95 is set to use standard VGA resolution (640x480), i.e.
- that you can display Windows '95 in VGA mode using the TORNADO.

- Initial Driver Installation
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- Windows '95 should be running in standard VGA mode as you begin this installation.
-
- 1. Insert the CD.
-
- 2. Click On the Menu bar labelled 'Start' and select 'Settings' followed by 'Control Panel'
-
- 3. Double-click on the 'Display' icon and select the 'settings' divider.
-
- 4. Click on 'Change Display Type' button.
-
- 5. In the Adapter type box, click on the 'Change...' button.

- 6. Click on 'Have Disk..' and use browse to select the drive/directory path of files
- i.e. \tornado\win95\oemsetup.inf

- 7. Acknowledge the 'Open' and 'Install by disk' window by Clicking on the 'O.K' button

- 8. In the 'Select Device' dialog box, the entry 'Tornado' will be added,
- and highlighted. Click on the 'O.K' button.

- 9. Windows '95 displays a status window showing the files are being loaded.

- 10. Click on 'Close' to proceed on with the changes.

- 11. Finally, click on 'Apply' to the display properties. A prompt message will be displayed,
- Select to restart Windows '95 when offered the choice.

- Note that you must have enough memory to support the colour depth or resolution
- you select, otherwise, the display mode defaults to 640 x 480 x 8 x 60Hz.
- Note that your monitor must support the refresh rate you choose, or the monitor will
- not synchronize.

- -- smudging/ corrupted screen bitmap effect shown on the screen using a triton chipset motherboard.

- Copy the file tritoff.exe from the \util\pci cd on to your hard disk and run this file.
- It is recommended that the file should be included in your autoexec.bat.
